Websites Are the New Front Door

We were already moving in that direction, but since the pandemic, websites have become the main door into every organization we can think of. The expectations of these workhorses have changed dramatically, with intuitive functionality and ease-of-update at the top of most site owners’ list of needs. Verb has been building websites for clients since 2008, starting with custom-built ASP.NET sites and we continue today, primarily — not not always — using Squarespace. (And yes! We are Squarespace Circle-certified.)

Most sites include some brand development work and they always offer the opportunity for us to advance the client’s story and improve communications systems. We place strong emphasis on strong SEO performance, content quality and of course, all sites must perform responsively.

Ophelia’s place

The Ophelia’s Place website represents an updated brand and pushes the essence of the organization’s work to the front and center using strong graphics and type in a video-esque format. It is positioned to become a resource hub for blogs, podcasts, event calendars, and more for parents of ‘tween and ‘teen girls. Like all our sites, its SEO is maximized to make it easy for Oregon parents who need guidance to find it. This site is a custom Squarespace build and is maintained by Ophelia’s Place staff.

Homes for good

The Homes for Good website is a custom-built ASP.NET marvel that allows the Housing Agency to meet its HUD requirements while putting forth a friendly and welcoming face to the people who need affordable housing. Originally built in 2018 when we renamed and branded the site, it is a powerhouse that became the agency’s number one tool for users during the pandemic, when employees dispersed to their homes and in-person service was paused.

This site is maintained by Homes for Good staff.

oregon medical group

Medical websites used to be fairly simple: hours, locations, provider names…. And then COVID happened. We used Squarespace to build a COVID-specific page as the pandemic hit and our client needed to update its custom site (not a Verb-built site) and couldn’t get it done fast enough. It worked so well that we rebuilt the whole site on Squarespace. It allows the client to make the frequent updates that the new world of healthcare demands.

hazelnut hill

Hazelnut Hill came to us for a site that would represent its farm-to-table brand, allow for growth, and most of all, make it easy to buy their wares and convert more visits to purchases. The site allows the client to add and subtract products as inventory and offerings change. It integrates with a productive eNews system, social marketplaces and of course, its SEO is high-performing. This site is a custom Squarespace build.

purakal cylinders

This is a custom-built ASP.NET site that we continue to augment as the company’s use of online tools grows. Besides the tight programming, we’re especially proud of the story it tells about this long-time US company. On the back-end, we’ve given admin controls to our client so they can manage essential, changeable functions. Though it’s a relatively older site, like all our builds, it performs beautifully on all devices.

union point custom feeds

This Oregon company formulates and mills animal feeds that prioritize quality ingredients and smart animal husbandry strategies. With an audience that includes small family farmers who buy by the bag to large contracts that order tons of special formulas, the mill needed a site that would work for both. This site is e-commerce ready and does a beautiful job accommodating a library of resources about animal nutrition. This site is a custom Squarespace build.
